Our Mission
The mission of Aspen Public Schools and AMPS is to transform the Fresno community by developing exceptional leaders who can positively impact the Fresno community.
Building Fresno's Future
Aspen Public Schools was named after the aspen tree, known for its interconnected root system, symbolizing a tightly knit, interdependent community. Like the aspen tree, APS works to build a unified network of students, families, and educators, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose to help students grow and thrive. Dedicated to "Building Fresno's Future," AMPS provides a stable, high-quality education in a small school environment where students can thrive. The school and network’s mission is to develop exceptional leaders who positively impact their communities.
Bridging the Gap: Education for All
The three APS campuses are located in historically underserved neighborhoods in Fresno. As California Community Schools, APS’ dedication to students and their families goes beyond the classroom. Staff work hard before and after school to close achievement gaps, promote equity, and cultivate an inclusive learning environment that honors students' diverse experiences and backgrounds.
A Commitment to Diversity and Educational Success
APS and AMPS believe in fostering a future where all individuals, regardless of race, ethnicity, or economic status, experience a better quality of life. The mission is rooted in APS’ commitment to equal educational opportunity for all students, regardless of their background, so they have the tools and resources needed to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. By focusing on academic achievement, social-emotional development, and leadership skills, AMPS prepares students to become lifelong learners, equipped to navigate the complexities of their environment and grow up to lead with purpose, integrity, and compassion.
